The synchronized transmission is of the locking synchronized type with eight forward speeds and four reverse speeds. The transmission has a gear shift and a range shift lever.
The transmission is of the countershaft type. The gear pairs of the individual speeds are in constant mesh. The gears on the transmission drive shaft can be engaged with this shaft alternately, while the hollow drive shaft, supported in the needle bearings, rotates freely on the differential drive shaft.
The gearshift mechanism is located in the front compartment of the transmission case. This case also serves as main oil reservoir for the transmission as well as for the hydraulic system. …
