CONTENTS
3. For early units, use the following procedure:
*Connect pump outlet line (A) to flow meter inlet using split flange adapter (B) and hose.
*Close the port in control valve.
*Put end of outlet hose into reservoir.
*Open flow meter loading valve.
*Start engine and run at specified rpm.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT completely close flow meter loading valve. Doing so can damage pump because system relief valve is not in the circuit.
*Slowly close flow meter loading valve to get the specified pressure and temperature.
*Record pump flow reading.

DISASSEMBLE HYDROSTATIC MOTOR
NOTE: The instructions for the service of 75OB and 85OB hydrostatic motor are similar. The 7508 is shown.
1. To service the hydrostatic motor, the pump and motor assembly must be removed. (See Hydrostatic Transmission Removal in Group 0300.)
2. Install transmission motor on hydrostatic motor repair stands. (See Section 99 for instructions to make tools.)
3. Remove hydraulic lines and clamps. Close all openings.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use eyebolt (2) to lift hydrostatic pump, pump will be unbalanced. Eyebolt is used to lift complete transmission.
4. Attach lifting strap (3) around transmission pump (4).
5. Remove cap screws and washers (5) to remove pump.
NOTE: O-rings and backup washers installed between pump and motor cases are replaced with square packings.

Action: Does diagnostic trouble code (DTC) periodically “go away”?
Result:
YES: DTC is intermittent. See Intermittent Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Diagnostics . (Group 9015-15.)
NO: Go to Short Circuit Check—Solenoid Circuits.
2 Short Circuit Check—Solenoid Circuits
Action:
Ignition OFF.
Disconnect transmission harness-to-transmission control valve harness connector (X36). See Transmission Harness (W10) Component Location . (Group 9015-10.)
Check for resistance between pin 3 (circuit T05 BLU) on transmission control valve harness side of connector (X36) and all other pins on connector (X36).
Is resistance with any wire less than 5 ohms?
Result:
YES: Circuit T05 BLU is short to wire with resistance less than 5 ohms. Replace transmission control valve harness. See Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve Disassemble and Assemble .
(Group 0360.)
NO: Go to Short Circuit Check—Short to Power.
