Note: It is easier if two persons do this task- one person to operate the controls and one person to record the machine cycle times.
!MWARNING
If two people are doing this job make sure that the person working the controls is a competent operator.
If the wrong control lever is moved, or if the controls are moved violently, the other person could be killed for injured.
1 Warm the engine to Increase the temperature of the hydraulic system to 50 degrees C.
2 Operate each service through it’s full travel 10 times to make sure that the warm oil is circulated through the engine.
3 When the hand controller lever is fully set, use a stopwatch to time each service from the start to the end of travel.
4 Do this task five times and make a record of the average of these readings.
Note: If the machine is installed with HBCV’s and there is a delay between the selection of the hand controller and movement of the cylinder:
– Open the bleed nipple on the HBCV and select the service to bleed the pilot signal to check valve, then repeat the cycle times.

1. Install cylinder into JT30043 Cylinder Service Stand with pin in head end.
2. Extend rod (6) completely.
3. Loosen rod guide (1) using JDG347A Spanner Wrench and JDG1231 Pin Set.
4. Remove rod guide (1), rod (6) and piston (3) from cylinder barrel (5).
5. Inspect cylinder barrel for nicks or burrs that may damage seals or O-rings. Remove nicks or burrs with fine crocus cloth.
6. Remove cylinder barrel from service stand and install piston rod assembly into stand.
7. Remove snap ring (4).
8. Using JT05794 Rod Guide Spanner Wrench, loosen piston (3) and remove.
9. Remove rod guide (1).

Make Welding Repairs Safely
T133547-UN: Avoid Heating Near Pressurized Fluid Lines
IMPORTANT:
Disable electrical power before welding. Turn off main battery switch or disconnect positive battery cable.
Separate harness connectors to engine and vehicle microprocessors.
Avoid welding or heating near pressurized fluid lines. Flammable spray may result and cause severe burns if pressurized lines fail as a result of heating. Do not let heat go beyond work area to nearby pressurized lines.
Remove paint properly. Do not inhale paint dust or fumes. Use a qualified welding technician for structural repairs. Make sure there is good ventilation. Wear eye protection and protective equipment when welding.

Loader and stabilizer control valve is an open center, mono-block, spool valve. All function spools are contained within one main housing.
High pressure oil enters valve at supply inlet port (4). When no functions are activated (neutral) supply oil flows uninterrupted through control valve to hydraulic reservoir via neutral flow passage (2). Two power passages (3) branch off parallel to neutral flow passage to provide hydraulic pressure to stabilizer and loader functions. Return oil exits at return outlet (5). System
relief valve (150) regulates loader and stabilizer function maximum supply oil pressure.
Stabilizers only or loader functions only can operate at one time. Stabilizer function takes priority over loader functions. If one or both stabilizer spools are shifted, oil is blocked to downstream loader functions.
All loader functions can operate simultaneously. When one spool moves only neutral flow passage is blocked from return, supply oil is still routed to downstream loader spools through the power passage. This passage is dead-ended at last valve section.

Machines with engines 4045HT054, 4045HT086, and 4045TT096 may use an optional auto-ether injection cold weather starting aid. Ether injection helps to start the engine in cold weather by injecting a specific amount of ether into the intake manifold (1).
When the ignition is ON and the engine control unit (ECU) detects the fuel temperature is below a specified temperature, the start aid solenoid (Y15) energizes, and ether flows from the canister (2) to the intake manifold (1) and mixes with intake air. For more information on the electrical control of auto-ether injection, see Start and Charge Circuit Theory of Operation .

When the ether/air mixture reaches the combustion chamber, it mixes with diesel fuel. Ether ignites at a lower temperature than diesel fuel, therefore, inside the combustion chamber the ether ignites first, heating the diesel fuel and aiding combustion.
