1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR
a. Remove the 2 bolts and heat insulator from the heat insulator bracket.
2. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
a. Place matchmarks on the differential and propeller shaft flange.
b. Place matchmarks on the transfer and propeller shaft flanges.
c. Remove the 8 nuts and 8 washers and remove the front propeller shaft assembly.

1. INSPECT FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY See step 1
2. INSPECT UNIVERSAL JOINT SPIDER BEARING See step 2
3. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINT SPIDER
a. Place matchmarks on the universal joint flange yoke and propeller shaft’s universal joint flange yoke.

b. Using a brass bar and hammer, slightly tap in the universal joint spider bearing.
c. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 4 hole snap rings from the grooves.
d. Using SST, push out the universal joint spider bearing from the shaft’s universal joint flange yoke.
