2014 ENGINE Cylinder Head Assembly – Azera
Installation
1. Install the CVVT assembly.
Tightening torque: 64.7 ~ 76.5N.m (6.6 ~ 7.8kgf.m, 47.7 ~ 56.4lb-ft)

CAUTION: Install camshaft-inlet to dowel pin of CVVT assembly.
At this time, attend not to be installed to oil hole of camshaftinlet.
Hold the hexagonal head wrench portion of the camshaft with a vise, and install the bolt and CVVT assembly.
Do not rotate CVVT assembly when camshaft is installed to dowel pin of CVVT assembly.

A. A: LH exhaust CVVT
B. B: LH intake CVVT
C. C: RH intake CVVT
D. D: RH exhaust CVVT

NOTE: When installing the CVVT assembly bolt, prevent the camshaft from rotating by using a wrench at position A.

2. Install the timing chain. (Refer to “TIMING CHAIN “)

Removal RH
1. Remove the RH bank timing chain. (Refer to “TIMING CHAIN “)
2. Remove the RH exhaust CVVT oil control valve. (Refer to “CVVT OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV)”
3. Remove the RH camshaft bearing cap (A) and thrust bearing cap (B).

REMOVAL
1. Remove the air intake hose connected to the throttle body.

2. Remove the engine coolant hose and throttle body.
3. Remove the P.C.V. hose and brake booster vacuum hoses.

4. Disconnect the vacuum hose connections.
5. Remove the surge tank stay.

6. Remove the surge tank.
7. Remove the surge tank and gasket.

8. Disconnect the fuel injector harness connector.

9. Remove the delivery pipe with the fuel injector and the pressure regulator.
NOTE: When the delivery pipe is removed, be careful not to drop an injector.

10. Disconnect the wiring harness of the coolant sensor assembly.
INSPECTION
SURGE TANK AND INTAKE MANIFOLD
1. Check the surge tank and intake manifold for damage, cracking or restriction of the vacuum outlet port, water or gas passages.
2. Check for distortion on the surface using a straight edge and feeler gauge.
Standard value: 0.15 mm (0.006 in.) or less
Service limit: 0.2 mm (0.0078 in.)
INSTALLATION
Install the intake manifold and delivery pipe reversing the order of the removal procedure.
Tightening torque
Intake manifold:
12 ~ 15 Nm (120 ~ 150 kg.cm, 9 ~ 11 lb. ft)
Surge tank stay:
15 ~ 20 Nm (150 ~ 200 kg.cm, 11 ~ 14 lb. ft)

2014 DRIVELINE/AXLES Front Axle Assembly – Accent
Reassembly
1. Install the hub bearing to the knuckle assembly.
1. Lay the knuckle assembly (A) on press.
2. Lay a new hub bearing upon the knuckle assembly (A).
3. Lay a suitable adapter (B) upon the hub bearing.
4. Install the hub bearing to the knuckle assembly by using press.
CAUTION: Do not press against the inner race of the hub bearing because that can cause damage to the bearing assembly. Always use a new wheel bearing assembly.

2. Install the dust cover (A).

3. Install the hub assembly to the knuckle assembly.
1. Lay the hub assembly (A) upon a suitable adapter (B).
2. Lay the knuckle assembly (C) upon the hub assembly (A).
3. Lay a suitable adapter (D) upon the hub bearing.
4. Install the hub assembly (A) to the knuckle assembly (C) by using press.

REPAIR PROCEDURES
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
Inspect ignition coil assembly and Perform spark test
I. Check for DTCs.
NOTE: If a DTC is present, perform troubleshooting in accordance with the procedure for that DTC. (Refer to DTC INDEX )
II. Check if sparks occur.
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Remove the ignition coils.
3. Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark plugs.
4. Disconnect the injector extension connectors.
5. Ground the spark plug to the engine.
6. Check if sparks occur at each spark plug while engine is being cranked.

REMOVAL
NOTE: Engine removal is not required for this procedure.
CAUTION:  Use Fender cover to avoid damaging painted surfaces. To avoid damaging the cylinder head, wait until the engine coolant temperature drops below normal temperature before removing it. When handling a metal gasket, take care not to fold the gasket or damage the contact surface of the gasket. To avoid damage, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion.
NOTE:  Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Inspect the timing belt before removing the cylinder head. Turn the crankshaft pulley so that the No. 1 piston is at top dead center.
1. Disconnect the terminals (A) from battery and remove the heat shield (B).

2. Remove the engine cover.

3. Remove the radiator cap to speed draining.
4. Loosen the radiator drain plug. and drain engine coolant.
5. Remove the intake air hose and air cleaner assembly.
a. Disconnect the MAF connector (A).
b. Disconnect the breather hose (B) from air cleaner hose (D).
c. Remove the intake air hose and air cleaner assembly (C).

6. Remove the upper radiator hose (A) and lower radiator hose (B).

7. Remove the heater hoses (A).

8. Remove the accelerator cable (A) by loosening the lock-nut, then slip the cable end out of the throttle linkage.

9. Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from the cylinder head and the intake manifold.
1. OCV (Oil control Valve) connector (A).
2. Oil temperature sensor (OTS) connector (B).
3. Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector (C).
4. Ignition coil connector (D).
