3. Insert NATS program card into CONSULT-II.

Description
• IPDM E/R operates the ignition relay when it receives an ignition switch ON signal from BCM via CAN communication.
• Turn the ignition relay OFF by pressing the push-button ignition switch once when the vehicle speed is 4 km/h (2.5 MPH) or less.
• Turn the ignition relay OFF with the following operation when the vehicle speed is more than 4 km/h (2.5 MPH) or when an abnormal condition occurs in CAN communication from the combination meter (Emergency OFF)
– Press and hold the push-button ignition switch for 2 seconds or more.
– Press the push-button ignition switch 3 times within 1.5 seconds.
NOTE:
The ignition relay does not turn ON for 3 seconds after emergency OFF even if the push-button ignition switch is pressed.

EXCERPT:
AIR BLEEDING PROCEDURE
Bleed air from clutch piping connector according to the following procedure.
Carefully monitor fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding operation.
Top up reservoir with recommended brake fluid.
Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve.
Slowly depress the clutch pedal to its full stroke and release it completely. Repeat this operation several times at 2 to 3 seconds intervals.
Open the air bleeder with the clutch pedal fully depressed.
Close the air bleeder.
Release the clutch pedal and wait at least 5 seconds.
Repeat steps c through f mentioned above, then air bubbles will no longer appear at the damper in the brake fluid.
Bleed air from clutch operating cylinder according to the above procedure.
Repeat the above air bleeding procedures 1 and 2 several times.

Disassembly and Assembly
DISASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the harness connector (1) from fuel level sensor unit/fuel tank temperature sensor.
NOTE: Hold connector with your fingers, because there is no tab for releasing stopper. Pull it out straight downward.
2. Remove fuel tank temperature sensor (2) from fuel filter and fuel pump assembly (1).
3. Remove fuel level sensor unit (3) from fuel filter and fuel pump assembly (1) using a suitable tool (2).
CAUTION:
• Be careful not to damage the fuel level sensor unit.
• Do not disassemble fuel filter and fuel pump assembly.
ASSEMBLY
1. Check for damage of fuel level sensor unit installation position on the side of fuel filter and pump assembly.
2. Slide fuel level sensor unit until it aligns to installation groove, then insert it until it stops.
• After inserting, apply force in reverse direction (removal direction) to ensure it cannot be pulled out.
3. Connect fuel level sensor unit/fuel tank temperature sensor harness connector.
INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
Use the following procedure to check for fuel leaks.
1. Turn ignition switch “ON” (with engine stopped), then check connections for leaks by applying fuel pressure to fuel piping.
2. Start engine and let it idle and check there are no fuel leaks at the fuel system connections.

Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Remove instrument lower panel LH. Refer to IP-23, “Removal and Installation”.
2. Remove the knee protector. Refer to IP-14, “Exploded View”.
3. Disconnect the harness connector from the parking brake switch.
4. Remove the parking brake switch.
5. Remove the parking brake control nuts and remove the parking brake control.
6. Remove adjusting nut from parking brake control.
7. Disconnect the parking brake front cable from the parking brake control.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the adjusting nut.
• Adjust the parking brake with new adjusting nut.Refer to PB-4, “Inspection and Adjustment”.
PARKING BRAKE FRONT CABLE

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals. Refer to PG-80, “Removal and Installation (Battery)”
2. Remove the parking brake control. Refer to PB-8, “Removal and Installation”
3. Remove driver seat (LH). Refer to SE-32, “DRIVER SIDE : Removal and Installation”.
4. Remove the center console. Refer to IP-19, “Removal and Installation”.
5. Remove front door welts (LH). Refer to INT-23, “BODY SIDE WELT : Removal and Installation – Front
Door Welt”.
6. Remove dash side finisher (LH). Refer to INT-24, “DASH SIDE FINISHER : Removal and Installation”.
7. Remove shift selector knob. Refer to TM-193, “Exploded View”.
8. Remove the front floor connecting ducts (LH/RH). Refer to VTL-10, “FRONT FLOOR DUCT : Removal and Installation – Front Floor Connecting Duct”.
9. Remove the front floor duct. Refer to VTL-11, “FRONT FLOOR DUCT : Removal and Installation – Front Floor Duct”
10. Remove the rear center ventilator duct. Refer to VTL-9, “CENTER VENTILATOR DUCT : Removal and Installation”.
11. Release clips (A) using a suitable tool and remove steering joint floor cover (1).
12. Place front floor trim aside and remove the front floor spacer. Refer to INT-26, “Exploded View”.
13. Remove the bolts from the parking brake front cable mount. Refer to PB-7, “Exploded View”.
14. Pull equalizer (A) of the parking brake front cable (1) in a rearward
direction and then push upward to separate each parking brake rear cable (2) from the parking brake front cable (1).
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the parts, do not bend the parking brake cables.
15. Remove the parking brake front cable.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
