7.7.2 Exhaust System Installation
Note: Keep all clamps loosened until entire exhaust system is in place.
Note: Replace the nuts and the exhaust studs on the turbocharger if damaged.
1. Install the exhaust assembly in place at the turbocharger with the previously used hardware.
Torque the flange nuts (2) on the turbo charger to 22 ±5 lb-ft (30 ±7 Nm).
2. Install the muffler brackets (1) to the frame brackets with the previously used hardware.
3. Adjust the muffler, exhaust and tail pipes for proper clearance then tighten all clamps.
4. Properly connect the battery. Refer to Section 9.8, “Battery”, for procedure.
5. Start engine and check for exhaust leaks at all exhaust connections. Adjust or repair as needed.
6. Close and secure the engine cover.
7. Remove the Do Not Operate Tags from both the ignition key and the steering wheel.
