6. Put top cap (38) in position over the bearing with no shims.
7. Install three bolts (37) that are equally spaced around top cap (38). Tighten diagonally opposite bolts to an equal amount. Repeat this procedure until all bolts are tightened to 47 ± 7 N·m (35 ± 5 lb ft). The lower cap should be flush with the frame.
8. Measure the distance between top cap (38) and the frame with Tooling ( K) at each bolt location.
9. Remove bolts (37) and top cap (38) .
10. Install the recorded shim thickness from the previous step. Position the shims over the bore. Install cap (38). Install bolts (37) and tighten evenly.
11. Install spacer (36).
