Pilot Control Tower Remove and Install
1. Park machine on level surface. Lower backhoe bucket, stabilizers, and dipperstick to floor.
CAUTION:
Avoid injury from escaping fluid under pressure, stop engine and relieve the pressure in the system before disconnecting hydraulic lines or
hoses. Tighten all connections before applying pressure.
2. Stop engine and operate all hydraulic control levers to system pressure.
3. Stop engine and turn key on. With pilot enable switch in on position, operate pilot control levers to relieve pressure in hydraulic system.
4. Drain or apply vacuum to reservoir. See 310G Backhoe Loader Drain and Refill Capacities . (Operator’s Manual.)
5. Raise rear windows.

Welding On Machine
IMPORTANT:
Electrical current traveling from the welder through the machine electrical system may damage the machine electrical system, including battery, engine control unit (ECU), information controller (ICF) and main controller (MCF). Disconnect battery cables and ECU, ICF and MCF electrical connectors before welding on the machine.
Before welding on the machine, follow the steps listed below to protect the machine electrical system.
1. Disconnect battery ground and positive cables.

3. Check that bearing rotation is smooth and without noise.
4. NOTE:
Readings vary depending on the location of dial indicator base with respect to the swing bearing support tower. To obtain an accurate reading, the base for dial indicator must be attached to the support tower or as close to it as possible.
Install dial indicator with needle point contacting bottom face of bearing outer race and base attached to the swing bearing support tower or as close to it as possible.
5. Move boom and arm to the position shown with bucket off the ground. Bucket must be empty.
6. Turn dial indicator to zero.
7. Lower the boom to raise front idlers off the ground approximately 500 mm (20 in.).
8. Record dial indicator reading.
If play is more than specified, check for wear to balls, spacers, and bearing race. See Swing Bearing Remove and Install . (Group 4350.)
